MONA

Mona- The Museum of Old and New Art

MONA- The second most visited tourism attraction in Tasmania, and it’s right on our door step!

Located just up the road, a 15 minute walk or just a minutes drive away, MONA is a must see for visitors of Tasmania. The structure of Mona is an architectural spectacle in itself. Carved into the banks of the Derwent River, MONA can be admired from our Riverview Rooms.

Australia’s largest private museum, MONA showcases David Walsh’s $110m collection of art and antiques. If art isn’t of your interest, MONA is also home of the Moorilla Winery and Vinyard, a cellar door, wine bar, cafe and restaurant.

Various events are often held at MONA such as concerts, markets and wine tastings. Check out the MONA calendar to see what’s happening.

The museum is open from 10am – 6pm daily. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (except January).
